If you've been following me for a while, you know I'm not surprised by the state of the United States right now. Each time I sit down to read the world (at the least the part right around me---feel free to ask about other countries), the road to where we are now was clear.
To be honest, I'm sure some of my logic from years of activism in the water and food space gave me a particular view to it.
Too many leading democrats were letting small liberties go that were their responsibilities to protect over the last few years and the bravado of the other big party was that of frat boys and now we have this.
I'll reiterate that I have always seen the country end up as 5 territories. More like the European continent and it's countries. It starts as 7 with two much smaller, stubborn ones finding out quite quickly they can't sustain themselves without more support.
A friend mentioned this yesterday and when I said that the north east will stick together she responded,
"Are the Original 13 colonies getting back together?"
I never thought of it like that as any movement in history toward colonization is awash in the worst of human behaviors but I could see a campaign with those words being bandied about.

I am about the absolute equality and care of all people. I don't think you can do this work properly if in any way you think of yourself as better than another. It's real deep gut work.
